Acrylic Final

This is the final picture of my acrylic.  It is an engraved design on 3/8" thick acrylic sitting inside a log of wood with rgb lights underneath it.  I can make it any color I choose.  This design is one my dad came up with back when he owned an El Camino.  This was a window sticker on the back window. 

Keyboard Final

Here is the final picture of my keyboard.  This is a fully functioning keyboard that I designed and laser cut and assembled.

Skill Development

This semester I furthered my skills in Maya.  I had to learn how to do the new renderer Arnold.  I also furthered my skills on the laser cutter and helped teach other people how to use it.  I also learned many new things in illustrator.

Duplicate Special Sculpture

So a while back we made a group of curves then duplicated them to make a sculpture.  Here is what I ended up with.

Alchemy test

Alchemy is a program that can help with drawing block.  Its like those ink blot test to see what you see and what you think it is.  The problem was my computer kept freezing so I grabbed what I did before it crashed.  What does it look like to you?

Today in class I set my house up house and pop out to get ready to cut out.  Here is a picture of the slices for my pop out.

Today in class I adjusted the color of the out side of my shipping container to make it blue.  Then I started cutting my building to cut out.

Today in class I brought 3/8" acrylic to cut my design deeper to bring it out more.  Once I did some small tests I did it full sized and it came out great.  I put lights in a slit in a log and it looks really fancy now.  Ill post a picture eventually.

Today in class I made a design went to home depot bought some acrylic and started engraving my design in acrylic.  I am going to put it above light to make it light up so I need thicker acrylic.  Ill have that for next class.

Today in class I forged on with my project.  The kitchen is finished the couch is done the out side porch is done and the walls for the bathroom is all that I have left.

Today in class we messed around with an ink blotting program called alchemy.  Then I went back to my new tiny house plan.  I just messed around with placement of required things.

Today in class I had a conversation with my teacher and we came up with a more unique idea to create the tiny house.  The shipping container will be able to fold down to the required size and only adjust the height up one foot which is allowed in the competition rules.  Then the shipping container will push up 7 feet to create a patio underneath.  There will be a staircase that stays down to get up to the main living area.  Once up in the main living area there will be another part that pushes out 6 feet to the side to increase the living area.  That will be the bath room, kitchen, and the bed.  Against the other wall will be the couch and laundry area and they will both be elevated off of the ground so the pop out can close in.

Today in class I made the tiling for my kitchen.  Then by mistake I got it to the color where it is now and I liked it so I kept it.  Then I modeled the exterior of the shipping container.  It has the divots on the outside of it now.  I also got the first window in my tiny house.  It is a long window located in the kitchen.  then i added led tube lights to the kitchen eating area and the main hallway.  I made them cool white because cool white lights are better for the eyes then fluorescent.  Also led saves more energy.

Today in class I continued on my kitchen and made cabinets a stove and a sink.  This is what the kitchen looks like.

Today in class we were working on a project the teacher gave us with a pencil holder like thing.  Then we might laser cut it.

In class today I laser cut a test of my tessellations  They came out beautifully.  I also continued working on my tiny house.  I am starting on the kitchen.  I also got the front door and the bathroom door to be frosted glass.

Today I made a couch in class.  Made it red.  Finished the table and bench and started the bed.

Today in class I got my keyboard finished and am trying to fix all of the bugs cause a few of my buttons don't work the way they are supposed to.  Like my backspace doesn't work.  L goes to the beginning of the line.  Simple stuff like that.  I am hoping to have it done soon.
